Advertisers on Instagram, Facebook and Messenger morewill not be ablesell products to users under 18 based on their interests. The decision comes after an Australian company said it may be showing alcohol ads to children. Facebook will now tighten controls on the types of ads that children under 13 can see on Instagram and other platforms. Australian alcohol companies are not restricting access to social media content from younger users, new research shows. On August 3, Facebook announced that Instagram will stop serving interest-based ads to 18-year-olds in the next few weeks. Only their age, gender and location will be possible to use for targeted advertising.
